Treasure Hunt

They say you can’t wear white after Labor Day, but no one said anything about white shoes. I can't even begin to explain how smitten I am with the MSPOPULR platforms. Since the moment I first laid eyes on them, I knew they’d be a staple in my summer wardrobe. These platforms are a must have in a girls closet--they're the perfect height and have the most comfortable platform ever! I am in lust with these shoes and can't wait to style them a million ways through the Fall!

My treasure hunt began at The Goodwill. These stores have a mixture of second-hand and vintage items, and you can find one in just about every city. This shop is more of a hunt than your regular vintage shop; you really have to dig through to find treasures, but the prices make the hunt totally worth it!

I really scored when I found a 70s teal lace maxi dress. When I tried it on at first, it overwhelmed my frame, but it was too gorgeous to pass up. The dress had two layers attached, a top and bottom piece, so I took scissors to it and turned it into two pieces. I’m wearing the top piece as a mini dress and the bottom can be worn as a maxi skirt. The shape of the mini pairs perfectly with the bright white platforms.

The trick is to look through every single rack, and keep your eye open until you hit the jackpot! I was looking through the skirts because I've been living in maxis lately. I picked a 90's violet skirt with button detail down the middle, and paired it with a kids Lakers vintage tee that I cut into an off-the-shoulder crop. It's an easy, off-duty look, but the MSPOPULR platforms really take it up a notch.

Keeping up with my sporty side I found a pair of vintage 70s pinstripe track shorts. I paired it with a cropped vintage Raiders t-shirt to keep it graphic black and white. The MSPOPULR platforms add to the monochromatic look, and complement the whole outfit.
