Seattle blogger Kim Thomas shows us there’s no wrong way to wear dressy heels. The voice behind Pretty Slick Chick styles the STECY, our official sandal of the summer, 3 different ways. Feel free to take notes and get inspired.

How did you first get into blogging?
After graduating from college, my first few jobs involved blogging for other companies. After a while, I became frustrated always expressing the viewpoints of others, and never my own. About a year ago I started my own blog, so that I could write what I want, wear what I want, and do what I want!

Tell us a bit how you styled your STECY heel.
The STECY is a beaut. In keeping with the heel’s minimal vibes and simple design, I went for clean outfits to match. I layered on some wardrobe basics in neutral color palettes, but kept them interesting. I turned up a simple white jumpsuit by adding a t-shirt, layered a moto vest over a scandalously unbuttoned blouse, and paired sporty monochrome basics! I love turning basics into an outfit that’s anything but.

What's one item every girl should have in her closet?
The perfect white tee! I'm talking about the sheer, soft, boxy kind with a deep v-neck and tiny little pocket that can’t actually hold anything. I will never get tired of wearing a white tee; it can be styled in so many ways and goes with everything.

What are your summer essentials?
My vintage DIY denim cutoffs, Origins tinted moisturizer, mirrored sunnies, and my One Teaspoon bikini. Other random things I MUST have for summer would be a bottomless glass of Gin Fizz, a playlist with all the top 40 songs we all hate but secretly love (cue Miley), and my dearest friend (who just so happens to own a boat).

What are you most looking forward to this summer?
A road trip to eastern Washington! It's a yearly tradition of mine to take the scenic route and stop at every single yard sale and antique shop along the way.

Describe the perfect shoe.
Something straight out of a Beyoncé music video.
