Introducing the HFC x SM collab by DaQuane Cherry.

Get excited. The HFC x SM collab by DaQuane Cherry is here.

In February 2023, Steve Madden partnered with the reimagined Harlem Festival of Culture, inviting Harlem-based creatives to our collaborative design challenge. Artist DaQuane Cherry’s work stood out with its playful contrast of textures, its strong sense of personal history, and his signature use of primary colors. DaQuane has been working with the SM design team to produce a 3-piece collab showcasing the vibrancy and creativity of today’s Harlem, and now you can own a piece of it.

DaQuane Cherry

The collection transforms DaQuane’s creativity from the canvas into wearable art with signature Steve Madden styles. As DaQuane explains, “My painting titled ‘The Phantom of The Child’ embodies a dreamy nightmare, to know where you came from and where you are now. To invoke emotions that need to be shouted to the heavens.”

THE MIRAGE JACKET

A classic denim jacket rounds out the collection. The midtone wash and relaxed fit complement the textured portrait patch on the back with DaQuane’s signature embroidered across the shoulders in bright red. The front buttonholes are finished in primary colors to match.

THE PHANTOM BOOT

An iconic Steve Madden boot, with its chunky silhouette and grungy look, is the perfect canvas for DaQuane’s artwork. Pops of primary colors on the laces and zipper highlight the printed design at the side, exploring the teddy bear portrait motif that recurs throughout Cherry’s paintings.

THE SHADOW BAG

The matching bag is a convertible belt/sling style, with contrast zippers framing DaQuane’s bold art at the front of the boxy design. Red, yellow, and blue hardware add pops of texture and color.
